Accommodations

This place is quite remote, folks. And there is no Marriot we can set you all up at. We have to get creative. BUT we want you to be comfortable! We want you to have a wonderful weekend. And we want you to experience the beauty of Cape Breton. If you have any questions about where to stay, please let us know and we’ll work with you to find the best place.

Note: The property is about a 2-hour drive from the Sydney Airport and a 4-hour drive from the Halifax Airport. If you happen to arrive on one of the late flights (which we do not recommend), please ensure you’ve arranged your time of arrival with your host to avoid running into issues accessing your accommodations.

If you're staying in a place with a kitchen or fridge, we suggest you grocery shop because there aren't a lot of delivery options for late-night-eats!

Airbnb

Whether or not you've stayed at an Airbnb before, this is a great option for the region. There are a number of homes in the area for between 2 and 10 guests. Below is a link to several that are close to where we're getting married. We ask that you try to avoid booking properties that accommodate more people than you have in your party. It's slim pickin's and there ain't a ton of 8 beds!

The button above links to an Airbnb wishlist we created. Please feel free to expand your search! We suggest searching Grand Étang, Point Cross, Chéticamp or Petit Étang (in that order). You can consult the map above to get an idea of the proximity of each region to the location of the wedding.

Various Local Accommodations

There are several inns, motels, cottages, chalets and bed in breakfasts in the area. A number of them are listed here along with a map that shows their proximity to the house where we're getting hitched (the large blue pin on the ocean).

  • Cheticamp Outfitters Inn is located just outside Cheticamp in Point Cross. The property is situated on top of a hill, so there are fantastic ocean, mountain and valley views from the full wrap-around deck. Spectacular sunsets, too!
cheticampoutfitters.com (owned and operated by family friends)
  • La Digue Suites is located downtown Cheticamp, walking distance from bank, pharmacy, restaurants, whale cruise and more. These two suits are newly built in a building that is over 100 years old. It is located on the harbour right off the wharf with a beautiful view of the Cheticamp Island. Book directly through Mark 902-224-3768/0065 for preferred rates ($100 - $150) and let him know you've been referred by Pat Leblanc for the wedding. Located at 15403 Cabot Trail Road.
